Default Transmission Burn?

Accelerating in 3rd gear from 3000 rpm to 7000 rpm I noticed a slight odor which I associated with a transmission. Straight road, flat, I was already in third gear so its not a shifting into the gear issue. Is this normal for anyone else? Marvin

Maybe the smell was caused upon the initial launch and you only smelt it when you go the the higher gears?

I would guess it is your clutch slipping.

It's happening to me too! First noticed it 500 miles ago during a launch, but recently I've experienced the same smell under normal conditions.

I've also noticed that while in slow-moving (crawling) traffic, I get a sorta jerky response while easing out the clutch. Plenty of revs though. It seems to be getting worse.

With only 3,200 miles, I can't believe this is happening!!!
