Mine occassionally pops out of 1st during slow-speed medium decel conditions, like when coming up to a STOP sign after pulling our of my driveway. Never does it on accel, never does it at high rpm or under heavy decel. I've got plenty of miles on it (>150k) so I guess it's just tired. As long as it's an occassional thing and doesn't occur under accel or heavy decel I can live with it.

Ok I'm sorry for posting on this thread, but I thought I was the only one with this problem. It started not too long ago, and I thought it was just the cold weather. Thank goodness for the "search" button. So I read correctly, as the car gets older it will stop doing it?

My MY04 did it several times between 3000 and 12000 miles, has not done it since. I think double-clutching at a stop before engaging 1st can prevent it from happening regardless of mileage.
Good Luck,
Mike

I went to Honda World in OC last monday Sept 26,05. Service technician test drive my car approx. an hour and they cannot duplicated the problem;therefore, they said they only repair whenever they're detected the 1st gear popping out .
With an open tsb on your car for this issue, they are obligated to fix it (they have no choice in this matter) go back again, and let them know that you are extremely unsatisfied with their service and that you will be calling the honda main office of your area and submitting a formal complaint (in writing) about their service.
