Transmission Issues
Well, this has been going on for a few weeks now. I'm hoping I don't need a new clutch because I don't exactly have that kind of money right now. Anyway, here's the deal:
It takes alot for me to engage the clutch and get moving now. And I mean ALOT. Normally I'd give her just a little gas, press the clutch in, put it in 1st, let up on the clutch a little, and she'd start to roll. Now it takes me shooting to RPMs up to almost 3.5K and stomping the clutch to the ground, and she'll slowly creep forward. I notice alot of lag now while moving up in RPMs in 1st and 2nd. I purposely haven't hit VTEC in a long time just in case I accidentally destroy my clutch (if it is indeed the clutch). Also, 1st and 2nd are VERY finicky about getting in gear. I changed the tranny fluid with Redline about 4,000 miles ago, so I don't think that's the issue. I am in NO WAY a mechanic, but I know how to do my basics and I have a decent understanding of how she operates. Does anyone have any advice? Sorry for the wordy post... Thanks! (And if anyone is in the Fay/Ft. Bragg, NC area and can come by to check her out, send me a PM.)

If your clutch is slipping, either your clutch disc has run out of friction material or your rear main seal is leaking oil and its getting onto the disc. Either way you need a new clutch. Problems with getting in gear are also associated with a bad clutch or throwout/pilot bearing, all of which are replaced in a clutch job.
sorry to be the bearer of bad news....i just pulled my trans at the first signs of slipping and ruff engagement. it was just the disc in my case worn down to the rivets. you should stop driving until you get it fixed.
