Ok i seem to have a Transmission problem. It sounds like a wheel bearing but its not. I had a mechanic put it on the hoist and the noise seems to be coming from the tail end of the transmission(where the drive shaft connects. Here are the symptoms:

1: noise increases with speed not rpm
2. No noise when its is stopped(in neutral or even clutch down)
3. Noise still there if the car is rolling in neutral with the engine off(even with clutch pedal pushed down)
4. gets worse the longer i drive


I just changed the MTF and it didnt do anything. Shifting is really smooth no grinding or clunking sound.

What do you guys think it is? I was thinking it might be cheaper to replace the tranny than to rebuild it.
