Help! Just took my '00 bought new with 4000mi. in for problems with grinding 1st -2nd gear and 2nd and 4th gear "pop out". Diagnosis: new syncros for 2nd and 4th gear. What's the deal with Honda build quality? Has anybody else had this problem?

 

Do a search, I think transmission threads are second only to VTEC.

Chris: I have the same problem. Took it in for new synchros @ 4000mi. Bad news is that I still get 1-2 grind under hard accelleration about 10% of the time. It has improved since the "fix" but not good enough! I am going to write Honda to see what they suggest. I only have 5000mi. -John

 

Thanks John....when you had the work done at 4000mi. did you have anything else "fixed" or just the synchros? ....Chris
