Transmission Removal Problems...
Ok so i am changing out my stock clutch, pp, and flywheel for the Toda Racing package this week and have hit a snag... I have the car wheels off and on jackstands and have followed the Honda Service Manual to the letter in transmission removal and clutch installation... I have everything off and the sub frame lowered so you can rock the trans back and reach the top bolts... all the bolts holding the trans / engine together are out... but the manual says "slide the trans away from engine" and that is WAY easier said than done! I cannot seem to figure out why i cant seperate the two... is there a trick or something I may be missing??? Anything is helpful and appreciated... THANKS
UPDATE I HAVE THE TRANSMISSION OUT AND NOW AM NOT SURE HOW TO REMOVE THE STOCK FLYWHEEL AS I DO NOT HAVE THE $100 RING GEAR HOLDER TOOL THAT HONDA CALLS FOR... WHAT DO YOU USE?

yes... removed the slave cylinder and pulled the fork out and up... held in place with a shop towel... this is what is shown in the service manual... is that right? I'm stumped...
Make sure the shifter is out or out of the way because if its still in the tranny you'll have a hard time sliding it back. Theres a thread in this forum for tranny removal. Very good one at that. Did you see it?

Make sure you removed the upper starter bolt. Apparently, some people mistakenly remove the lower, which doesn't bolt into the transmission. The upper does.
Think of the flange on the starter as a diamond-shape with rounded corners. If the rounded corner by the bolt you removed points down, it's the wrong one. If it points up, then this isn't the problem.
