Transmission temperature gauges going in
Reedz and I will be installing digital transmission temperature gauges in our radio dooor arrays in the near future, replacing the useless under-hood air temperature gauge we already have installed (I'm also installing them in the gauge arrays I'm assembling for two other people). The trick was finding a way to mount the sensor. The solution is to mill and thread a hole in the drain plug for the sensor. The plugs are being worked on now, and as soon as we have them, the gauges will go in. I've been curious whether the occassional (and awful) 1-2 grind I get is in any way related to trans temp (it always seems to happen after a hard, long run, with a lot of shifting).
We'll know soon. The trans temp gauge will go to the far right of the array, shown below.

I could guess that the temp.will goes up after a short period of time in the traffic !!!
Did you see how close is the exhaust from the trans. ? So, with no air moving around the trans. in the traffic, the temp. will raise and that's when we got grind !
That's why when i'm getting out of traffic i am smooth with the shifting.
That will be interresting to see this test !!
Keep us informed !!
