Transmission Whine
I drive my car top-down most of the time so I didn't notice this earlier but when I have the top up, I hear a high-pitched whining sound in 6th gear above 65mph when I take my foot off the gas to coast. The noise goes away when I push the throttle even just a bit. Is this normal? First I thought it was a tire noise but it wasn't tire noise.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

You can do yourself and those who might help you if you do some experiments to determine when this whine occurs and the nature of the whine.
Will do it in 5th gear at the same speed?
Will it happen if you are at speed and put in the clutch, get off the gas and coast?
Or any other combination of things.

must and only happen on sixth gear.. if you tried on 5th you could barely hear it cause your engine noise are louder than the noise...
oh ya and the noise goes away if i release my throttle or I push more throttle even just a bit..
and it also happen only 85km/h - 115km/h at sixth gear.

Since you are asking me the symptoms, I am assuming that you are not hearing this whine. I think the sound is more pronounced on asphalt and not as much on concrete roads.
Thanks.

What's difficult on an internet scenario is to determine if what you hear is normal or not. This is why it is impossible to tell you what might be going on. The only way for you to know for sure is to find someone near you who knows S2000s and understands the mechanics of the car to go for a ride or even test drive your car so you can point out the sound when you hear it.

Here again, as I said before, it is impossible to say if this whine you hear is normal or not. It could be jus the normal noises that a spinning transmission makes, along with all the bearings in it. It could also be the normal sounds that your throw out bearing makes. You really need someone who knows this car listen to it in person.
I am now reminded of a little anecdote:
A backwoods lumberjack visits the big city for the first time and ventures into a hardware store where he sees a display for gas chain saws. These things had a sign stating "double your money back" guarantee that it will cut a minimum of 100 trees no bigger than a trunk diameter of 10" in 1 hour.
The lumberjack thought to himself, "Gosh, I can only cut about 40 such trees in an hour with my trusty old axe". This could really help me out in the woods.
A week passed and the lumberjack brought the chainsaw back and demanded twice his money back because the product didn't do as it claimed. He said that although the saw helped him to better his previous average, as hard as he tried, he absolutely could NOT cut more than 46 trees an hour.
The customer service clerk asked to inspect the chainsaw to see what might be wrong with it. He check the fuel level and the oil level and determined that it was OK. So, he flipped the switch and pulled the cord. The chainsaw instantly fired up making the typical "ring-a-ding-ding-put-put-put" noise accompanied by a cloud of smoke.
The lumberjack jumped back and said, "HOLY CRAP! WHAT THE HELL'S THAT NOISE?"
