i just purchased a s2000 and notice the trunk light turns on at random times when i drive around and when i park, is this a common problem? when i arm my alarm on it sets my alarm off at times due to thinking the trunk has been open. I tried disconnecting the wire that plugs into the trunk but the light still turns on.

 

Sounds like a cracked or bare wire from the trunk release in the vehicle to the mechanism in the trunk. Common problem on some E39 BMW's but not sure if this is the case with the S.
