Trying to figure out which diff/driveshaft I have.
Hey guys, ive had my car forever. When I got it I figured out it had an ap2 trans in it so I kinda assumed the diff was an ap2 as well but I wasnt/am not sure. The diff is making a clunk and has some play in it so for now id like to replace it with a used one and then have my current diff repaired down the road. I just want to make sure which one I need to buy.
After researching ive found the driveshaft to diff bolts are different sizes between ap1 and ap2. I have a pic below of the bolt heads, and if there is another view/area needed ill be happy to post. Whether it was a flange swap or an actual diff swap is no concern, I just need to know which will bolt right back in. Thanks!
