Default Ultimate CEL Thread mentions.....

Just got back from autozone and using their tool to scan the CEL that just came on my Bone Stock Silverstone MY06 and it would not link. I noticed someone made mention of the possibility of pulling codes without the use of a scanner, can anyone enlighten me or was this just false? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Jay

There is a way to jump a couple of wires and count the flashes of the CEL to retreive but I cant recall off-hand.

I know that I could do this on my 00 GSR by jumping two of the pins on the SCS connector and counting the CEL flashes. a long flash = 10 and a short flash = 1 iirc.

This is probabaly not worth mentioning but make sure your gas cap is on tight. Some cars will throw a CEL if the cas gap is left off or not on tight enough... completely shooting in the dark. Not sure if this applies to the S2K.

The civics/integras have a 4 pin port on the right side that you can jumper and then the car will falsh the code out for you via blinks of the check engine light.

I think you can do this to the S as well but not sure what plug to jumper. Prolly just a paper clip in the OBD2 port.
