Default CEL Blinks then goes away?

I was traveling home today when I noticed the CEL blinking. I immediately started looking for a place to pull over when the light stopped blinking and turned off.

The odder thing is that no codes were stored on either my CARCHIP or when I scan it with the tool at autozone. The only thing I can think of is the emanage caused it but it has never happened before.

FYI- This was NOT the Maint Req light. It was for sure the CEL.

A flashing CEL means a misfire, bad enough to damage the catalytic convertor.

Does your carchip record history DTC's?

Ya, it records them but it didn't record any of these codes. Usually, if I have a CEL it records the code and the freeze data along with it.

Technically it IS possible for the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp aka Check Engine Lamp) to blink due to severe misfiring, WITHOUT storing an error code!

No codes stored shows your car has no history of misfiring, and that's something you should be very glad about!!

Sounds like the car just had some kind of hick-up!

Keep a close eye on it and good luck!
