I left the factory oil in for 4000 miles; the maintenance minder was at 40% oil life when I changed it.

Driving habits for that first set of oil did not involve at WHOLE lot of hard driving; the next UOA, I'm guessing, will show some different results, as there was much more spirited driving involved

looks good.. does the new 08 s2000 use 5w-20 now? if so this might be good news for me.. since they didnt change anything in the new S. i should be able to use 5w-2 as well..

 

Thanks for posting this report. It does look similar to other OEM fills that we've seen. The high moly is very apparent. The viscosity usually ends up in the 20W range as well. Is it a 5W-20? It's difficult to tell because even 5W-30 and 10W-30 conventional oils tend to shear down quickly these days.

What oil did you replace it with? Go a couple of OCI's with it and sample again. As Blackstone says, you'll see a dramatic improvement. Enjoy your new CR!

 

I'm not 100% sure on what it came with from the factory.

When I did the oil change, i put in 10W30 'regular' valvoline oil; I will be switching to synthetic after a few more oil changes.

I just did my second oil change at 7200 last night and I'm sending the sample in today
