That shit had to be driven into the ground or somthing was wrong and when it was driven kept making it worse. I've had 2 hondas that were perfectly fine over 200,000 miles so this makes no sense for a honda.

Alright I wish someone who has had this happen can chime in.... blown was a figure of speech.

A rod snapped and shot out through the block... Anyone with similar issues please chime in...

Mine went at 91k, but it was a few crank bearings that spun

ImportSport lost a a connecting rod at the Dragon last year. Cars that are tracked heavily usually go south around the same milage.

This has happened to several owners on this board, but usually before they had reached 100k miles.

Here's a link to a very lengthy discussion of a nearly identical problem a friend of mine had. The bottom line is that you'll need to replace the engine and it will be a challenge to get Honda to do it even with an extended warrantee. Your best option might be replacement with a used long block.
Thank you for the info. I definitely had heard of a few going within warranty... I do drive my car hard but I always also keep up on all my maintenance... Having the first year of the car and the original owner sucks ass. I have done so many tsb's a few recalls...nevermind how long my car has been in the shop to diagnose these issues b/c Honda didn't give adequate training for this car... They did good will my inner cv joints which had the pitting. That was at 69k I think... My car was lowered and had aftermarket wheels and they didn't mention anything. I've only tracked a few times.. but seriously its a Honda, as long as you take care of it this shouldn't happen at 100k. I love this car and its such a disappointment. I've already got a short block lined up... AP1 with barely any miles on it for a very good price... Once they pull it apart I will see what if any damage was done to the head... I just want to fix her and get back on the road.

Thanks for the great info, when I have time tomorrow I'll read through all of it.

The one guy cdelena mentions upgraded bolts.. never heard of this. Was this a TSB or anything... I just can't believe out of anyone's car that this would happen to mine..

I do believe it has to do with the #1 cylinder b/c the rod went through the very front side.

I will keep you posted.

Thanks again, much appreciation
Jerrianna
