to a point... I mostly got the VAFC for future use for other parts and to lean out my fuel a little bit since im running a 00 model with the richer running ecu. But 100 rpm seems pretty worthless to me. About the downfalls of lowering VTEC besides fuel correction, like you said the ecu doesn't think it's in VTEC when it is with oil pressure etc is a reason enough for me to leave it as is, lowering of disengagement really isn't something I'm too worried about, if I'm really driving that hard and shifting where I am suppose to be I'll never drop out of it anyway...... but at WOT in case I shift early its nice to know there is a small window in which it will stay engaged vs the factory setting. Very valid points you made about what the VAFC doesn't see that the stock ECU does.

I see your point, but my only reason for using the VTEC portion of the V-AFC is to make the VTEC engagement as smooth as possible. To make it smooth, I had to lower VTEC 300 RPMs to 5600. Not only did I gain a significant amount of power through those 300 RPMs, but I don't have to worry about the abrupt VTEC kick when I'm accelerating out of a corner on the track. When you are at the ragged edge of grip on the track, it doesn't take much to send you off into the weeds.

ahh...yea well 300 RPM's is bigger significance than 100, I was just referring to 100 only. I know what ya mean, I've been attending some autox's lately but not competed yet. When driving that hard it doesn't take much of anything to lose it. Just a minor surface change can send you in a spin as I saw this weekend. How much fuel correcting did you end up doing for the lower xover?

I built a custom VTEC / fuel controller to replace my V-AFC. It tunes itself using a WBO2 input, so I don't really know what my corrections are.
