Default VAFC question

I did a search on it but all I got was people selling vafc or their harness. Now I am plannig to get one of these babies however I am also thinking of turbo or supercharge the car now after I do that is the vafc gonna be a waste of money and not used? Will it still have a use for in the car? I know it controlles the vtech engagement point and some of the fuel pressure I guess, does it do more than that? I saw one which turns red when hi cam is online. Thats pretty cool actually. Oh and also do I need the harness or does it come with if I buy in brand new box? Radio door is such a nice idea lemme search onthat see if I find any installation pics or tips. Hmm
Please no flame, if this is post is bothering you simply ignore it instead of shaving a usable amount of dead skin by using your keyborad to flame me.

Oh shoot are vafc1 ad 2 different sizes? So a vafc radio door wont work with vafc2 ? and also what is the difference between vafc 1 and 2? On apexi website there is only one.

To answer some of your questions the only differences between the 1 & 2 are knock sensing and you can tune fuel by increments of 200RPM vice 500. The harness is something made by a guy on the board i forgot his name off hand but its the same person that made the radio door holders which i was told were no longer being made, so my suggestion is to find someone selling it all together and get it that way, the VAFC is ok for tuning a supercharger but no where near in depth of what you need for a turbo. You can do more searches and see what people think but in the end it depends on what you have to spend on it. Hope this helps

Hey uhh tnx man nice reply. What does knock sensing do? Does it just sense it or corrects it too? And also this turning in to red color when vtech engages, is that on all of them, only some, extra option, or just a myth?

It just lights up an indicator when it senses knock. The ECU will automatically correct the problem. As for turning colors when VTEC (not vtech) engages... who cares? You shouldn't be looking at the thing while you're trying to drive! Many people use the VAFC to tune, and then they mount it some place where it is out-of-sight, out of mind.
