Default VAFC and what it does?

I have seen plenty of talk on this VAFC. I think I know
what it does. It changed the vtec engagement point.
does it do anything else.
I also read on another thread that it was not adviseable to change
the engagement point. That spoon had the VAFC but didn't change the
engagement point.
also would someone use this mod just for a street upgrade, and
with an SC.

thanks

You should use the search button, as this topic has been discussed many times.

The V-AFC is a VTEC - AIR-FUEL-CONTROLLER.

It allows you to adjust fuel and change the vtec point, but NOT the ignition timing. I don't think Spoon ever had a V-AFC for their car, as they designed a separate ECU to control fuel and vtec. They did change the vtec point, but I don't know to what exactly. It is usually recommended that when you get a AFC, you should change the vtec point, as many people gain power. I have mine set to 5800. Mainly people use their on the street, as they really don't affect drivability.

Technically, it's VTEC - AIR FLOW CONTROLLER. But everyone likes to say it's "Air / Fuel".

The VAFC's are around $305 if you look hard enough.

The installation is super simple if you buy a harness from me... takes all of 10 minutes Otherwise you have to splice the factory harness. Most dyno tuning shops can do this install for you for about $120... But you still have to tune it...
