my car just died/stalled out 3 times when i installed the VAFC(died when first starting the car, idled for less then a minute then RPM'S got lower and just stalled out). put vtecnology's setting and Brandon B's setting which were somewhere around the beginning of the post(VAFC library thread)...did i forget to set something? i changed all the settings in the setting part of the menu and did the etc. menu settings according to RT's in another post.i didnt touch display setting, are you supposed to?? please help , i just unplugged the harness and plugged back in the regular wires to the ECU and my car is fine. one more thing the check CEL came on(blinked once the second time i did it),is that supposed to happen?(it turned off when i took the harness and vafc off). am i supposed to reset the ECU?(unplug a fuse for 30 seconds???)

please help ASAP...thanks,i really appreciate all the help i can get.

geoff, are you SURE you wired the harness together correctly? if you did you are probably just missing one of the settings you have to enter in. if you still cant get it down feel free to come by my pad and i'll help ya outs. juss give me a ring..

 

hey mike, yah i'm pretty sure me and my friend did the harness correctly...and i think i put all the settings in.i guess one of these days i'll pass by and you can help me out...it's wierd though cause isn't the harness not supposed to show a cel?,or is it just a matter of resetting the ECU-but would taht cause the car to stall out?...anyways thanks for the help...how's the bike?

 

alright throw out the resetting the ECU, just did and the CEL still came on.also i unplugged and tapped the MAP sensor-still stalled out...if it's not wiring the harness wrong, what could be the problem?

dood maybe ur vafc is defective? i know for a fact that the harness is fine since it worked on my car fine.

 

double check the brown wire and how it is wired with the manual. that wire can cause many problems if not wired correctlly

 

Check the cable connection.
It sound like the connection between the harness and the VAFC is not connected properly. This can gives you the CEL and stalling

got that from another post...maybe the harness was wired wrong, their can only be one or two wires mixed u if any ause all the other's are labeled...

did you check your initial settings? When I reseted mine, I forgot to change the cylinder type and it kept staling on me. It wouuldn't even start. Make sure you have the right initial settings
