Default Valve Adjustment Question

Yes, I searched.

I recently had a valve adjustment done in conjunction with an accessory belt change. But here's the thing, the car was running fine before and now I'm getting some slight throttle hesitation. It's on tip-in throttle, kind of a sort of hesitation and then the engine catches up. Funny thing, we went back and checked it twice.

From what I've been reading, this is supposed to be done when the engine is cold, below 100deg according to the manual(I'm reading it right now). The valve adjustment was done when the car was warm, at the very least two bars or three. Is the hesitation cause because the valves were adjusted when the engine was cold?

We're going to let the car sit for the recommended four hours before adjusting them again tomorrow. Any help would be appreciated.

Room-temp engine is an absolute must for VA.

I don't understand your confusion. The engine cannot be anywhere near operating temperature. It must be < 100°F (a.k.a. room temperature).

Let the car sit for four hours and re-do the valve adjustment.

Check your spark plug torque when you go to remove the plugs this time and see how tight they were. My last adjustment I did when it was about 40-50 degrees in my garage, I don't think being too cold matters.

Just let it sit over night and do it in the morning. That the way I do it. Better safe than sorry.

Make sure you have the correct feeler gauges in the right sizes.

I am sure you know why it has to be be done at certain temps (heat expansion, contraction)

Re-do and make sure the engine temp is what the temperature is outside or very close to it. Basically wake up and do your valve adjustment, you'll know it has been off for over 8-10 hours.

Also like stated above, check your plugs, use some anti-seize on them too and torque them to the proper specification Honda revised. Also just for security check the coils for cracks, your problem would not really be caused from this as much, but it is always good to make sure you check everything while you're in there.
