Default Valve check...Compression check?

When are these items needed? I just bought an 05 with 51,000 miles...I'm changing all of the filters...And all fluids (oil, trans, diff, brake)

Any other testing I definitely should have done before just relaxing a bit and enjoying the hell out of this car?

Valves should be fine in an AP2. Compression test is not a must unless you think something is up internally. However, it never hurts.

Thanks...Just curious...How would one know if/when the valves should be checked or having an issue? Was the AP1 more prone to an issue there?

Thanks a ton...
