Default valve job

My check engine light has been on forever with multiple misfire codes and eventually found out its due to leakage around intake valves on cly 1. So im just going to do an entire valve job to get everything back to normal. Would you guys recommmend just working with the head i have...new valvetrain..or just looking for a used head. I also had a question about head gasket/headbolts....should i just go from dealership? Looks a little pricy..from local dealership any sites to check for cheaper oem honda parts

Hardtopguy

If the part isn't listed on the website, give them a call.

Jacko is selling a perfect head in the For Sale Forum.

Head bolts: You can use the old ones, if they've never been touched before. However, new head botls get an extra 1/4 turn, So I'd recommend new Honda bolts. Get a Honda head gasket as well.

I'm curious about the diagnosis....are the valves bent, or burnt? s2k's usually never bend intake valves, only exhaust. And the only way to burn them, if your stock, is to tight of a valve adjustment. They come barely loose from the factory.

Here's the head....I pulled it myself to put in a race head, I can vouch it is in perfect running condition. If it were me, I wouldn't even touch it, I'd bolt it on the car as is.

THEN.....you can get a second opinion on your head, fix it if needed, and sell it to recoupe some cash.
