Question Valves springs and retainers?

Hey everyone,

I have a 2001 and about 80K miles on the motor. For some miracle of god this motor runs super strong and I'm starting to get worried that it will someday explode. So my question is:

Where can I spend some money to help keep my motor from exploding?

I was thinking that I should get titanium valve springs and new retainers. While in there what else should I replace. Should I worry about those oil jet bolts? Etc.? Oh yeah, other info: about 350 to wheels and 400 on the way.

Thanks everyone!

I thought that a thicker head gasket would lower the compression.

The valve guides should also be replaced. Ti springs are not necessary but Ti retainers are a big weight savings for the valve train. I'm running Honda yellows (intake springs) all around and frequently pull 9500 rpm.

Thanks Sideways!

You had Tony do that work right? I think I'll go the same route... I have almost your exact setup...minus the head work.

Who's tony? Im pretty sure Joe Alaniz did the headwork. Valves, valvesprings, retainers are all apart of the head. He does it all as a package.

Joe Alaniz built the head and Tony installed it. Tony Fuchs.

Thanks for editing your title.
OK, there's been enough distractions posted so far. I'm going to delete a few posts to clean this up. Hopefully, you'll get some serious responses here.

How long have you had 350 to the wheels? If this is the case, you would be far better advised to put more thought into frequent fluid maintenance - engine, tranny, rear diff. The new oiljet bolts would be good insurance.
If you lower your compression and do nothing else, you'll decrease your power. Why not just go back to when your engine was putting out only 300 HP? You have engineered "forward" and now you are trying to find ways to counter what you've done with other methods. But now you say you are headed for 400 HP but are worried about the motor "exploding". What do you really want? An engine that gives you 400 HP or one that won't someday explode?
