Valvetrain noise? Oil Weight?
I've noticed lately that my valve noise is worse. Not horrible, but definitely moreso than when the car was new.
I've got almost 2000 miles on the car now, and I've change the oil already with conventional Valvoline 10-30. I was susprised to find 10-30 recommended, primarily because every Honda I've seen in the past 10 years recommended 5-30.
Has anyone else noticed an increase in valve noise? Has anyone noticed valve clearances loosening up in infancy? Has anyone switched to 5-30 and experienced reduced noise?
Just curious... thanks!

For many of the cars that had the number four cylinder fail, a noise that sounded exactly like valve train noise was the first sign.
Your dealer can diagnose it by attempting to adjust the valves and the noise doesn't go away, and then inspecting the plugs to see if the #4 plug is fouled but the others are not. Finally a peek inside with a "bore-o-scope" a fiberoptic endoscope to look inside engines, will show cylinder wall scoring.
I hope you have valve train noise and not #4 cylinder failure. Take it to the dealer. After the dealer solves the problem, let us know.
Here's a summary thread about #4 cylinder failures.
