Default Various issues

My 2001 is on 263,000 miles

It's the best car I ever owned, my daily driver since 2003 and I've a blast. Recently it's had low speed hesitation, started to misfire with multiple cel misfire codes. I replaced the plugs and air filter and it runs beautifully again but still has the misfire cel.

On Friday night I pressed the clutch, there was a loud clunk and it felt like something snapped, and the clutch pedal hit the floor. I got it towed to my regular shop, where we looked at the slave cylinder and master cylinder an both seemed fine. The clutch is really stiff and I can't start the engine. There's just a clicking sound which sounds like the starter is trying to engage but doesn't. A new battery didn't make any difference and I'm thinking the starter needs replacing but it seems weird the starter would go out at the same time as I have the clutch issue.

Does anyone have any advice for me? As I said it's a 2001 with mega miles, runs beautifully and I'd like to keep it but it's probably not worth too much and in addition I had plans for a new roof and windshield. Any thoughts on what the issues may be? Should I invest the money or am I looking fer a new car though I can't imagine life without an S2000

You broke the clutch fork pivot. It is held on by two bolts.

If you are slick, I believe you can replace it in minutes without pulling the transmission.

Thanks Billman250. That would make my day I just got a quote for $1460 replacing the clutch, so I'm hoping you're correct

Billman250 - we had a look at the fork and you're right, it's broken, but how do you get it out of there without dropping the transmission?

I am not 100% sure it can be done, but it might. Get in there with a 12mm swivel and a bright light.

On a very high mileage car, it could be your injectors or the coil packs for your misfires. maybe they are all worn out and need to be replace.

Could an engine with that high mileage just not have the compression anymore, and is missing due to failing piston rings? I'm no expert, I'm kind of just piggy backing on your questions to ask some more. Hehe

Slalom44 has over 350k on his original engine and no issues. All depends on maintenance and proper treatment...
