Various issues
Update on my clutch failure.
On braking this down it was the clutch hanger that failed. Sheared off completely. I took the opportunity to replace the clutch, also needed a new battery and a new starter motor (I'd been hearing the screech intermittently for a while).
So I'm back on the road and it's running beautifully and way smoother at speed. Not that I go fast officer.
If anyone is interested I bought an Exedy clutch kit on Amazon for 400 bucks. The pedal is much smoother and doesn't require track cyclist thighs to operate the clutch, though I have them anyway
So it's on to the next 260,000 miles. It's been my daily driver for 13 years and I'll probably retire it to weekend pleasure cruising and buy something ugly for my 75 mile commute. Thanks for all the advice guys and I'm sure I'll be back as other things happen.
Cheers

You will also have clutch buzz from day 1.
So when you do this again, what you want is a Honda clutch disk, Honda TO bearing, and either a Honda PP or ACT H021 PP. THEN you will be good for another 260K.
This is well documented on this forum. Exedy clutch typical lifespan 20k miles. You may get a lot more since you're mostly hwy, but you likely wont get 40k.
