Default Very Confused

So i have a MY07 S2000 with almost 4k miles on it.

Today i drove it to work and on my way back from work, it was working fine until the stop sign before my house. I did a complete stop at the stop sign and when i was getting ready to go, something weird happened.

I put it into first gear, let the clutch go and stepped on the gas, the speedometer was saying i was moving but my car was not moving. and i left my car in first gear without stepping on the gas but it didn't stall out.

Does anybody have a clue what is wrong with it?

Thanks in advance

Speed sensor picks up after the last trasnmission gear from the output shaft. It you really saw speedo movement but no motion, you have a disconnected prop shaft or blown differential. Been launching the car lately? Hope you still have factory warranty. Be prepared for some push back from the dealer if the diff is blown.

So...is that the current state of the car or was it a 1 time thing?

For some reason I feel like there is more to this story...
If not, take it to your dealer and let us know what they say.

I took it to the dealer today, they said its the clutch being burned out, and that they wont cover it under warranty

My question is, how does a clutch burn out after only 4k miles on it?

Now the dealer says that they won't cover it under warranty and wants to charge me $1990 + Tax.

Very very pissed and sad
