Vibration from drive train(I think)
He guys - been off this forum for awhile due to things, but back now - have a question - 2001 S2000, 110,000 miles - a few weeks ago at 65 MPH in 6th gear, when i pressed the accelerator, there was vibration from the drive train (at least i assume thats where it was). Only at 65MPH or higher. Then after still driving it for a few days, i then noticed that it would vibrate when accelerating at about 35MPH.
I took it to mechanic and he checked the motor mounts and CV joints - all looked good he said.
After more inspection he says one of the transmission mounts looked strange, so he was going to try a shim and see if that might be the problem.
Car has original transmission, original clutch, etc.
Any suggestions on things to look for - i'm stumped as is the mechanic - and i shudder to think i might need to take it to Honda - they just kill you with their pricing and they always find "other" things wrong that need to be fixed.
Thanks guys in advance for any insight you can give me.

So whats the deal - i looked online for new CV buckets - can get them with discount for $311 - but you can get a brand new axle including the CV's and buckets for $150??? What the heck is that all about??
And i know all i have to do is swap the buckets around, but i don't have the proper tools, and my mechanic says its cheaper to get a new axle than do the swap based on the time it takes.
Just weird.

I had to do the CV bucket swap, wasn't too bad sucked doing it on jack stands but it is what it is, I would recommend paying a shop that knows what they're doing to tackle this or someone that know's S2000's.

Thanks guys - you are the best!! Had mechanic cancel the axle order and got him to do the bucket swap - i could probably do it, but i don't have the right tools and it's already at his place so i figured i'd just have him do it. Will cost $375 to do so i'm ok with that. Would probably take me an entire day(or more) to do it and i'd have to buy the right tools anyway.
