Vibration Under Acceleration
I recently had vibration under acceleration from 40MPH-60MPH. I recently broke an axle driver side of course and then I had recently installed Drive Shaft Shop Axles and they were brand new and the vibration happened after the install. I got the install checked out and everything was put back to factory specs and the CV are not pitted obviously and the axles were checked and installed correctly.
After I got the install and check I then went to the dealer and I got my Stock Differential fluid changed and then vibration seemed less pronounced for about the first couple days of driving, but then it came back to its normal more aggressive vibration. The main thing is the dealer had changed the fluid and in there they saw small pieces of metal chunks and it didn't look like shavings if that makes sense. My car is sitll driveable so I assume my differential is ok, but my ring and pinion took a beating when I broke my axle.
I guess now my quesiton is if I change my differential and put the Comptech Reinforced Differential and 4.57R Ring and Pinion would my vibration stop? I know without seeing it is hard to diagnose, but I would just like confirmation of my thinking, because the metal did look like it was from the gear, but not very fond of our rear-ends
SORRY ABOUT LONG POST, AND THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL REPLIES. Rick has been there assisting me throughout the way, but just want to double, triple check with everbody. Great person Rick (Stratocaster).

I would think until you know exactly what is causing the vibration you might not be changing out the parts that cause it.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. The only thing is, if the broken axle damaged something else and that's causing the noise, changing the axles back out might have no affect.
Maybe pick up a cheap autozone axle as an experiment, install it, see if you have the vibration or not. If you don't, you need to talk to "Drive Shaft Shop". I'd probably call them anyway and see what they think.

I broke an axle and already got new axles installed driver and passanger side. My quesiton to you guys is, would the additional vibration be caused by gears being chipped? Like the metal pieces inside the differential that were found in time of diff fluid change, would that be the main cause for vibration. Because axles are perfect and all shaft drive shaft half shaft and all are in good condition. But would chewed up gears give this type of vibraiton or no?
You're not descibing the sequence in a way that we can use for diagnosis.
1) No problems
2) Broke an axle
3) Replaced axles
4) Have vibration now
Or
1) Had vibration
2) Broke axle
3) Replaced axle
4) Still have vibration
If you've got chunks of metal coming out of the drain plug, then you have a diff problem. Shavings are one thing, chunks are another. I'm not sure I'd go any further until you get that checked out.

1)Drove perfect
2)Decided to go for the gold launched it and BAM car wouldn't move
3)Went to my local tuner and they said I got lucky and it was an axle (Driver side)
4)Got Drive Shaft Shop axles and the vibration began
5)Got car checked out by two places and said not due to new axles
6)Got my Stock Differential Fluid changed and noticed small little chunks of teeth that came out with my old fluid
7)Plan on getting the full set-up Comptech Reinforced Differential, 4.57R Gears, OEM Install Kit and Yellow Box
There hope that helps guys sorry about the ambiguity, just really wanna figure out this damn problem is annoying.

Does the vibration go away under decel? If it does the inner CV joints are the cause. Even if the rollers and CV joint housing look fine, if the Joint isn't machined properly and matched to the correct size rollers it will cause a vibration under accel.
If the vibration is still present under decel, check for bent wheels, and out of balance tires.
My $$$$ is on the DSS axles.
