Default Vortech SC guys...(timing unit/box)

What is the Model number on your Timing Units? I just got my 2nd replacement from overnight from Vortech yesterday and it says FTC-003C on the side. The one UPS picked up from me was FTC-003, it didn't have a "C" at the end. Is this the new and updated box???

My S/C is still in its box but I checked a while ago and was told that if the vacuum hose comes out the "opposite" side as the wiring connection, you have the NEW box. If they are on the same side, you have the OLD box.

These days my car has been bogging a little in the morning. I've spoked to couple of people and what they've told me is that I need to replace my timing box. What they've also told me is that the first shipments of the Vortech kits had bad timing box.??? I'm not sure, but why are all of you guys replacing your timing box? What was the symptoms you guys were experiencing? I do I know for sure if I need to replace mine?

John

Have you done a dyno test on your Vortech SC S2K??? I did a dyno on my car and the air/fuel was spiking at certain parts of the RPM so I sent the dyno graph to Vortech and they think it's the timing unit that's causing the problem. That's why they swapped it out a second time. My first timing unit was the wrong one (I was one of the first few that ordered the Vortech SC). My second one worked fine...didn't have any problems with it, but my dyno graph told something different so Vortech wanted to swap it.
