Team Hybrid,
My light was one all the time for the first several months and I never used a cat with the tubo...always had a straight pipe. After a while my light would come on intermittently... didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to whether it was on or not. It didn't seem to have any affect on power to me but keep in mind that I always ran in the 8-10 psi range with a fairly strong mixture of 116 octane and pump gas.

Jaykkub,
It's an E46 M3. What supercharger did your brother have? I know Dinan makes one for the E36 as well as RMS, ESS, AC Schnitzer, Active Autowerkes and a couple of others I believe. I'm looking at turbocharging the M3 (having Dwight do it... I just foot the bill) as soon as we figure out what we're doing for the software side. Dinan is currently working on a Supercharger for the E46 M3 as is Active Autowerkes... we're hoping to use their software.

Didn't we reset the codes before tuning the fuel?

Regardless, no I don't think the CEL is going to be a problem. If its the same code as last time its just an O2 sensor code, or a mixture code (too rich likely). If its running better with the code, then hell, leave it on. You can always reset it whenever you need to. It wouldn't hurt to find out exactly what the code is though.

(2) To UL; pretty much same question. ...except for the CAT question....I remember that my fuel maps were constructed with the CEL light on the whole time.

[B]Supercharger - Is $4300, easier to install, doesn't really make any hp until 3500RPM, and is linear hp (goes up with revs).

S/C actually henders in low RPM's. It's not until VTEC that it starts to provide
any useful boost.

Where have you been... could have used this useful bit of info. earlier.
