Default VSA+! after steering wheel install

Hello all,

I'm sort of freaking out over this but I swapped to an aftermarket setup and after test driving it, the VSA and ! light came on around 20mph.

Car is an 06 - I am using the NRG 131H hub which allows for the stock reel and SRS light fix - SRS light stays off all the time. The only thing is that I don't have a horn connected as it has not arrived yet, but I doubt that'll affect the VSA light...

Does anyone have any idea what I could do to fix this?

Cheers

My only thought is that you somehow messed up the clock spring/cable reel removing the OEM wheel. I busted mine when removed the oem wheel. I didn't get the VSA light but had an SRS light that not even the resistor fix would defeat. Found a used one on ebay luckily for cheap and replaced it and now all is good.

I'm pretty sure I did mess it up because the bolt pattern on the wheel did not match so I had to rotate the hub... My buddy Artin managed to clear the VSA light at his shop so now I'm just stuck with the triange ! light... oh well

Steve, how did you bust it? I thought as long as you didn't rotate it significantly it would be good to go. If you did rotate it then you had to go through the re centering procedure and you would be good to go. I guess I didn't realize you could bust it, I didn't take any extra precaution and have not drove my car since I tossed a new wheel on. I guess I will see once I go for a drive.

I made the mistake of completely removing the bolt that holds the steerinf wheel on instead of leaving it partially threaded. When I finally got the wheel loose and it came flying off it grabbed the face part of the cable reel and opened it up. I then had the fun of trying to wind and put it back together. Rookie mistake. The face didn't actually break off. You can tell its a removable part but something in the process broke and I had to replace it.

Gosh good thing that didn't happen to me! I took it all of the way off, but the wheel came off fairly easily, just a couple hits of my palm from the back and it was loose, then just slid right off.
