Default VSA (!) error light post Soft Top Removal MY06

Hi there s2ki, this is my 2nd S2000 and this is the first time I owned one equipped with drive by wire/ traction control.
I have run into a hiccup and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with the same issues I am having now

I am the 2nd owner of the car and bought it from a Honda dealership in So Cal

I decided I wanted to remove the softtop prior to installing my Mugen soft top.

During the uninstall, I still kept the softtop switch plugged in since I moved the top up & down during the uninstall to gain all the access to bolts and clips hidden.

I remove the softtop but needed to go home so I went home without plugging any of my center console, headunit area, the airbag display light above the headunit area, etc thinking when I plug it back in, it will all go away

I went back and finished the uninstall and put back the interior together. Airbag lights were all gone but the only light remained was the (!) symbol and my VSA button no longer worked

I have been trying to diagnose what could of went wrong with it during the uninstall

Any insight or experiences regarding this matter?

Thanks in advance

On the 2006 to 2009 s2k, the connectors for the buttons on the center console are identical, and can be reversed accidentally.

thanks for the insight. yeah, you are correct, the first time, I put the console back in, I color coordinated matched the plugs back but that is actually the incorrect way and was later corrected by my local shop. But the (!) button still remains... even tried changing out the steering angle sensor.

One of my electrical gurus is saying its not getting a signal from the VSA module but the wiring is in tact but just trying to really make sure before I pay 2 grand to find out if it is a VSA module failure...

Is it possible that things begin to go bad when the battery is no good to begin with? A couple of years ago I began having CEL notices concerning emmisions. I had been running a Berk HFC for 3 years w/o problems then all of a sudden a CEL. One antifouler installed with no help. Two antifoulers installed with no help. The next day I had a dead battery and had it replaced. Never a CEL again. Since that happened, I've always wondered if it could have possibly been a bad battery to begin with. Probably not, but check your battery anyway. Who knows?

yeah that was one of the points someone mentioned to me and I changed out the addresses

at this point, the only thing I haven't touched is the abs speed sensors on each wheel corner and VSA module itself...

1) battery - check
2) steering angle sensor - check
3) center console correct plug in - check

0025 - error code, went through it all, I guess I might of banged it up or it just died when I was removing the center console during soft top removal process. I swapped out the yaw rate acceleration sensor with the one from my CR and bam! back to 0 errors and lights gone
