RACER, I was joking about Honda putting a ban on the import of VTEC fluid. Although, if you can find any, let me know, I need to stock up. No, I wasn't talking about the VTEC solenoid. Psych!

hell you cant even hit VTEC before your engine warms upto 3 bars, you hit the 6500 fuel cut off.

when i had my gsr, vtec wouldnt engage exactly at 4400 rpms unless u were full throttle. if you gave it half throttle, it would engage at higher rpms. i had an LED hooked up to my vtec solenoid, so the engagement point is not just in my head.

also my gsr had no problem winding it out to 8000rpms with no vtec engagement. the engine wasnt warmed up yet. but i was tired. and younger. no real excuse there tho.

not sure if s2k's are the same, just putting it out there that its possible on b18c1's for vtec engagement points to be diff depending on the situation

Yes, I always warm up to 3 bars before engaging in any VTEC play. I could tell when I drove it off 3 weeks ago from the dealer that it runs better when warm.
