VTEC!
when was your last time you changed your oil? an alarm should affect with your vtec. it's just like adding a system in yoru trunk. if you drive hard, i suggest you let your car cool down before turning it off.

And have you checked your MoJo?!
have checked the oil and it's still golden and up to the right level, i havent paid the guy who put the alarm in yet, he wont be getting a cent off me either!!!
as for the alarm all i know is he did tap into the rev meter on the engine, maybe that did something?

see if he bumped the wire off the vtec solenoid. theres a grounding wire that he mighta bumped off. also, buy yourself the honda manual and follow the troubleshooting flowcharts. your bound to figure out whats wrong. for gods sake i hope this isnt in your head.

Have the guy who did the install show you every wire he touched; according to your account, he ****ed something up.
If the battery was disconnected then the ECM/ECU was reset. I believe it will take a few driving cycles before the ECM/ECU "learns" enough to allow your car VTEC. If you have access to an OBDII scan tool check to see if IM monitors (something to do with smog) are set. If they have not set yet wait until they do then try and VTEC. If there is stiil a problem then it is probably something else.
I reset my ECU before and it took a couple days before I could VTEC. I always wondered how the people that use the no number 25 backup fuse from cabin "mod" get around this. I would think they just can't VTEC. Good Luck
I just noticed your car may not be USDM so you may not even have OBDII. Even so you might consider that your ECU may have to "learn" if it was reset.
