Thumbs up Vtec solenoid

This question is just out of curiosity.

Hope this doesnt come out stupid, but do Vtec solenoids go bad?

Do you have to replace the Vtec solenoid after X amount of miles?

Thanks, Alex

Its worth it to check (and clean) the screen filter.
You have to remove the solenoid to see it.
The coil should have a resistance between 14 and 30 ohms, measured between the contact and ground.
The valve itself should move freely as you press it down with your finger.
You have to remove the coil to do that.

To replace it after an xx amount of miles is unnecessary iMO.
