yup. you could try it to find out

if the engine isn't warm enough, it'll cut out around VTEC. Very disturbing to experience.

Why would anyone want to do this? It would be bad for any engine to be taxed before being properly warmed up.

VTEC is NOT a VERB!!

I can't say, " Hey six speed, your mom gave me some good VTEC last night, thank her for me"

I hope you weren't trying to give an example of VTEC as a verb. You definitely have a noun object there in 'give me some VTEC'...!

The correct use of the "verb" would be ......................
Your mom and I VTEC'd last night. (Wrong use of the term, though.)

Wouldn't that depend on the stroke of the piston?

technically VTEC isn't really even a verb in any way, shape, or form. technically "VTEC" is ALWAYS on and working. we just use it as a commonly accepted verb/action.

and by the way, if you try and VTEC when the engine is not warmed up, you will hit what we call, the moron limiter. as in, you'd have to be a moron to want to rev this car up that high on a cold engine. so the moron limiter kicks in and saves you from yourself.

I've actually had it happen on a warm engine immediately after a stall and restart - like "oh damn I can't believe I actually stalled the damned engine as I was trying to get going from this light... restart and GO before I get rear ended..." Guess the oil pressure hadn't gotten up there yet?
