No it wasn't oil pressure. the car uses coolant temp to determine when it enforces the premature limiter.

I didn't know that. Don't know why that would have happened then, since I'd been driving for at least half an hour at that point.

nope, I keep the oil where it needs to be - that's why I thought it might be an oil pressure issue, as I'd JUST restarted the car *shrug*

This was one time, probably over two years ago, so I'm not really trying to figure it out or worried about it

Thanx guys.... since the guy who sold me the car told me that after I bought the car.... I thought I bought a lemon....

now my clutch in second and third gear it grabs hard is this normal? (like a click sound, not soft) do I need a new clutch?

Anything below 3 bars on the temp guage...VTEC at your own risk.
I don't leave the driveway until the revs come down and the temp is normal running temp. This along with some other very odd routine stuff.

I was under the impression that it was better to drive your car gently to warm it up than to let it idle to warm up - better oil distribution or something...

I like to let it idle for 1-2 minutes, then sloooowly drive off. I have heard that fuel dilution can occur when idling, which in turn, is bad for the engine. When I start my car, I don't touch the throttle as the engine is in fast idle mode.
