Default Warning - Vortech BOV interference

The metal edge of the little filter attached to the BOV chewed into what looks like my AC line.
Fortunately I caught it in time. I need to replumb this with a hose or get a different kind of filter.
Is the filter really needed if the air only goes out?

Poring through Home Depot plumbing parts with my filter in hand, I fixed it by hooking up a short molded "L" bend rubber hose to the BOV, then a two inch long threaded PVC connector to that, then the filter to that.

Even though the filter opening is an oval, this setup acts like an adaptor. The round diameter is something like 1.25 or 1.5 inches.

Thank you for the warning mate.
Yes the filter is needed. There is some oil in that vented air ( from the cam cover...blowby oil).
Some purist would say that it may promote fire if you dont use a filter. It's also illegal in certain parts of the world.

Is that BOV loud? Can you hear it?
Damn, I can't wait for my installation to complete.

yes, all vortech kits come with a blow off valve. I just installed my kit and I will now check this issue. Thanks for the heads up!

What's the purpose of an oil catch can?
IF you can answer that you can correct yourself
