Thumbs up Wastegate Outlet

Is it alright if you run the car with the Wastegate outlet just letting the exhausts right from the wastegate or is it better to attach some piping and have it vent down and away from the engine?

The latter is preferred. Keep in mind that the exhaust gas will be several hundred degrees and will potentially melt any plastic in it's path.

have piping to have it expell the gases away from anying. The exhaust can melt anything in a large radius. You can always re-route the wastegate dump into the downpipe.

Aren't wastegate exhaust gases supposed to be dumped back into the exhaust header post turbo?

Sure, if you want reduced power.

Actually, this is to prevent boost creep and increase wastegate response more than any real power to be gained from it. Having a turbo-back exhaust system that flows too well in comparison to the wastegate will give you uncontrolable boost and a option to solving that is to just have the dump tube vent to the atmosphere. Another solution is to just buy a nice large wastegate and have it recirculate into the downpipe .

It will be EXTREMELY noisy though if you vent to the atmosphere.

It actually has a lot to do with power also. If you dump into exhaust, there is more exhaust gas volume and turbulance causing the exhaust to become less efficient.

That depends on the inner diameter and material of the downpipe and exhaust. Like I said, it can be a neglegable amount of power increase. There is also turbulence once the wastegate opens pre-turbo in the manifold collector itself.
