She Runs!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so it was not without questions, but I have put them in a PM to xviper cause there was just too many to ask. After turning the engine over to push the water out of the tubes, I let her sit for a while, then added some alcohol cocktail prescribed by xviper, and then cranked it to push that out. Love the smell. Gave it a bit to air out (watched Survivor and ate dinner) and then put the plugs in, put the cover back on, and prayed she would start. Initial turn over failed, almost thought she was flooded, and then she chugged hard to get started. Little did I know water shot from the exhaust and she was humming. Gave the proper warmup time suggested, and pulled out of the garage. Took a slow drive up the street, idle was a bit funny, then decided to give it a trip around the block. Halfway the idle went to normal. Safely home and in the garage, but she runs smooth in 5th gear. As I passed the part of the neighborhood where the water was sucked in from, I cannot believe I drove her tonight after a week.

Thanks so much to those who have posted comments/suggestions here. xviper, thanks for helping a novice with tons of questions work through what I thought was total failure of my S. And thanks for not making me feel stupid for asking questions to try and do it myself!!! Hats off to you specifically.

We'll continue our dialog till you get things back to normal. You showed genuine concern and was receptive to advice and recommendations. It is those who take advice like they only want to listen to what they want to hear and ignore all else, that I treat those kinds of people like they are stupid. Those aren't worthy of help.
Besides, how could I not help a Community Organizer. I was one myself for years.

You may not be out of the woods just yet. Keep your fingers crossed and check those things I PMd you about and take it one step at a time.

There is a possibility of a bent connecting rod. If there is damage, it will be heard when the engine fires up and starts running.
what does that sound like?

I definitely had no knock knock knock.

Right now, just watching the steam or smoke coming out the back tailpipes. The temps got cooler so not sure if it is normal or something else. Watching that will tell soon.

Did you change the oil yet?

The substance you see coming out of the tailpipes is probably steam.
