Default A way to tighten driver's sideview mirror?

Recently my sideview mirror (housing only) has begun to jump around when going over road bumps. I do not see any visable way of tightening it. Any suggestions out there?

Thanks,
John

If you are referring to the fold away part, you're hooped. This cannot be tightened and you'd need to buy a new mirror.
However, if you are talking about the whole mirror where it attaches to the surface of the door, then you can tighten this. You'll need to take apart the inside door panel. Then you need to remove the door sash holder (this is that triangular piece that sticks up when the window is down), then the plastic cover. (A Helm manual would be really useful for you here.) Then you will see 3 nuts that hold the mirror to the door. Tighten these and you should be done (the mirror part anyway). Put some medium strength locktite on the nuts if you are worried they'll come loose again. It's not something you want to do repeatedly.

It's also possible that the mirror actuator is loose in the housing. To fix this look at the pictures in this helpful FAQ on decreasing the mirror's blind spot and snug up the actuator screws: https://www.s2ki.com/article/archive/13/

Thanks guys. I originally thought that the mirror itself was loose. After a closer inspection it is the fold away part that is the problem. I wonder if this is a warranty item?
