Default EPS Light. No Power Steering.

So last night me and some friends were driving on the freeway..when suddenly we went over a section on the freeway that seemed like a sudden rise...i think days before the city had removed a thick slab off of the freeway....so we drove onto a crossing that rose up maybe a few inches tall...well anyways..we all drove through and then i heard a LOUD SMACK!!!!!

my steering went haywire as i tried to control it from steering LEFT by itself...if i had held the steering wheel any less i would've gone into the guard rail..

i pulled over to the side..stopped...and as soon as i let go of the steering wheel..it turned left FULL LOCK by itself...went out to check the damage and it was scratches on my lip...so turned on the car but the steering was no longer controlling itself and was rebalanced...

but now when i drive...my car drives straight..no problems..i just have no power steering..and my eps light is on..

went under the car today as saw this..

looks like all i hit was this frame/metal thing...funny thing is we went into that same area this morning to check it out..and they were already covering it up and smoothing out the bump we hit

disconnected the battery..nothing..disconnected the battery fuse...nothing..any help?

ugh i hate it when they leave roads like this. i would rather them close the damn lane then leave a huge slab for people to slam into

and the real shiity thing is most states have laws against altering the suspension of your car so if you do try to recoop damages from DOT they'll tell you youre out back...so sorry to hear this man...check all the connections to the rack, it might be as simple as it jolted a connection loose

Grab a manual and try resetting your EPS system do a search there was a good coverage on here about how to do this.

Hopefully that's all it takes.

yeahh..my friends were telling me to sue the city..lol...but since my car is lowered..i figured it was no use.ahhahahha

i think i may have found my problem...looking in my engine bay yesterday..i noticed a little motor connected to my steering rack..its on the right side of the steering rack when facing towards the car...well theres a HUGE crack on it!!!!i think its called the Power Steering Gear Box? or Power Steering torque sensor??

its #2.

on hondaautomotive.com it says its called a "SENSOR ASSY., TORQUE"....well theres a huge crack on it..it may have been damaged on the impact which is maybe why im not getting power to my steering rack..

Hey join the club. I'm about to do my steering rack and let's just say it's about that much and $105 core charge.

If anyone has any leads for great prices, please let me know
