Default Weird Problem

My s2k is not my daily driver so I take it out for a drive every other weekened. Today I went it for a drive and whenever I went WOT I could smell sort of fuel/burning . My03 with 136000 miles. My mods are PLM header, Invidia 70mm test pipe, and Invidia q300 exhaust. Last time I took it for a drive I didnt smell anything. I got no leaks, no CEl's, no nothing. Any ideas?

My car smells like gas all the time. I'd say check for leaks under the car and the hood. Also check to see all hoses are hooked up with no leaks. I doubt it's anything, but you can never be too careful.

you have a test pipe. With out a cat your inevitably going to smell fuel. Im surprised you hadn't smelt it before.

Did it happen to be during cold start when you're running even more rich then normal?

during normal driving, as soon as I step on the throttle I smell fuel/burning. I never smelt this before and I have had my test pipe for a while, and recently installed the header.

Hmm, i mean its pretty normal to smell fuel with out a catalytic converter. Maybe take a peak under the hood and underneath and just double check for leaks, disconnected vacuum lines, etc... If not maybe have another owner with a test pipe take a ride and verify that its normal, or take a ride in their car. Hope that helps

If you got no cats, you will smell gas fumes.
If your car got an exhaust leak before the cat, you will smell gas fumes.
If your car just got started, you will smell gas fumes until it running at normal operating temperature.
If you got a gas leak, you will smell it also.
That's about it.
