Weird sounds...
Hey guys, I bought my s2k a few weeks ago due to sheer need of a vehicle after my bike was stolen. It has a few miles on it, but the engine runs strong and i got a pretty good deal on it i think.
Anyways, recently i've had this weird metal to metal rubbing sound. (yes i've searched the forum and have a few theories, but need to test it out, that's why i'm here today) At first some suggested that it might be the axle nut, so i regreased it and tightened it down since it was the cheapest solution (free). Nope, didn't fix it. So now I can't seem to narrow it down. It sounds like it may be coming from the transmission, diff, or wheels. It's just too hard to tell since it's such a small car (i came from a 97 saleen where everything was much bigger and laid out than this tiny honda).
Question is... some people have suggested to narrow down the sound to lift the car up on stands and have a run at it to try to narrow it down. To keep it simple...
what are the steps to do this? Does someone have to be in the car to keep the wheels moving? Thanks guys!
