i always rev match with my fwd cars. ('94 mx6 and '92 protege). a lot less stressful on the drivetrain.

rev matching isn't in the manaul b/c most people are idiots. im sorry if you misunderstood me bret, but i wasn't trying to say that bad downshifts can cause enough wear on the clutch or differential to cause damage. it just adds up over time.

but yeah, the dropping the clutch or taking your car out the track can put excessive wear on the drivetrain.

UpDate! The passenger side oil seal was the problem in mine.
