Default What happens if you try and put 1' O2 sensor in

Was running a little rich and caused the early demise of my secondary (post-cat) oxygen sensor.

Went to the local auto parts store and they recommended a Bosch universal #15730.

Put the car on jackstands, spliced in the part...

Then found out they had given me the part for the PRIMARY O2 sensor instead!

I needed Part # 15734. They've ordered one for me. No charge of course.

My question is: what will happen if I run the #15730 in the secondary location? Will it work okay? Do they have different resistors? Will it turn the CEL off?

I don't want to jack up the car to remove the O2 sensor again (at least until the right part comes in), but I don't want to damage anything in the meantime.

Thanks!

The heater elements are different resistances. The OEM sensors have different connector shells that won't let you swap them.

Unfortunately the universal ones are just spliced in. I guess I'll just remove it and put it aside for when the primary eventually goes.

Thanks for the quick reply!
