Guys, after managing to fry my ECU a few months back, which caused a constant CEL, I've just been replacing my ECU.

Only i noticed there is this black box with JS Racing written on it, which obviously is not stock.
It is wired into the ECU plugs.

Does anyone know what this is?





It is a 2001 JDM car if it makes any difference.

Most likely a speed limit remover box. I think the JDM cars gauges will only display 180kph from the factory for some reason.

The green wire goes to a white wire. Is it a solid white wire, or a white wire with a tracer color?

 

Its a speedlimit defender.
HKS has them aswell, have one at home but been to chicken to cut in to the ECU cables.
And yes the JDM cars only do 180kph without it... and it SUCKS!
