I have a PRM intake & my friend has an aem cai on his s2k...W/that in mind, I'd say go w/4IG's aem-style cai. It's $75-$80 cheaper then aem's & it's almost as loud as the aem if that's what you're going for. As for a quiet exhaust, go w/HKS, Mugen or Apex (World Sport).

Get 4IGS or AEM intake and replace the filter with the largest K&N filter you can fit behind the front bumper.........it will be loud enough

If you want a louder intake then get the Vortech boost kit

BUT the loudest intake has to be NO when it goes BOOOOOOM

try taking the cover off the stock airbox. I think it robs a bit of power but it sure does sound cool when you get on it.

If you want loud get a short ram intake. Also the thinner metal intakes(aluminum) have more resonance!

I appreciate all the inputs.

The reason I'm more concerned with sound than anything else is that no intake is going to give me measureable gains (nothing greater than ~1-2%, which could be explained by simply the error of the dyno).

So if there is no power to gain, what reason is there to buy an intake other than sound? I would just remove the airbox cover, but that will actually LOSE power, and I will not go that route.

I've had people mistake my 4IG's intake for an exhaust before at the track. "So what exhaust do you have on that thing". First time I heard that, I'm like, what exhaust.

Well, much to my suprise, there is another thread here in Under the Hood that talks about the power gains CAI's do give, so perhaps there is a better reason than just sound.

However, there is a significant disparity in price among all these intakes. Right now, I'm really liking the PRM because it is mounted up high. What's the price on it? What' the chance of picking one up used?

Thx
