I understand that! I was ribbing you back because my car has a noticable "drone" in the exhaust note when cruising steady between 3000 and 3500 rpms. It's not really that loud but it "is" definitely there and it doesn't matter which gear I'm in. I can only imagine how loud that drone might be "without" the resonator!

i wonder if i take it off it will make the stock exhaust sound more like a aftermarket one.

anyone wanna try this and report back?

No, it'll make it sound like the stock exhaust with an annoying drone.

Don't cut off the Hemholtz, but you can take out the canister resonator to give the exhaust very nice tone. There are a few big threads on it and you'll be quite pleased with the results; it gave the car the perfect sound IMHO.
