Not 100% sure but it may be the nut to adjust where the soft top stop when it's in the down position. For the early models MY00 there was a bulletin detailing how to adjust how low the softtop sits when in the down position. This nut bolt may be the adjustment for the that. You needed a crowfoot wrench to adjust this nut. I had to do this years ago because the softtop was sitting too high when in the down position so it was pushing against the tonneau cover and rear tabs would keep coming off.

You should look up the DIY on hardtop installation. Whether this part is needed or not with a hard top I can't say. Are you planning to use the hard top permanently ? And completely removing the soft top? If this is the case may be you don't need this part but again I don't know for sure. I have a hardtop and as I recall the brush part is still there.

Maybe, i need this only if i use the soft top. I think i dont need it with hard top. I hAD to remove the brush with the hard top because, if i let it, i wasn't able to replace the side plastic.

There are seperate brushes that go with the HT. I don't know what that piece is that you are showing. Maybe it's some kind of homemade adjustment? Anyway, contact a dealer and order a set of correct brushes. they are cheap.
